Melvin M. Kinsley, age 100, of Hartville passed away Sunday morning January 29, 2011. Melvin was born September 4, 1911 in Hartville to the late William and Mary (Kanel) Kinsley. He attended Lake Township School and spent his young years growing up and working on the family farm. Later in life he was employed at the Hercules Manufacturing Co. and the Schumacher Lumber Co as a carpenter. In his retirement he was self-employed as a finish carpenter and enjoyed making wood products for family and friends. One of his favorite projects was his garden "Wind Animals" he made every Christmas as gifts. He also spent many hours tending his summer garden and fruit trees. Sharing his crops with family and friends gave him much pleasure. Preceded in death by his wives Margorie Newhouse Kinsley and Edna Heim Kinsley; and brothers Albert, James, Norman Kinsley and sister Clara (Kinsley) Stout. He is survived by his sister Grace Kinsley Doubledee; step-daughters and son Darlene and Victor Drenta and Betty Deckerd and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday February 1st 4-7 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Funeral services will be Thursday 11 AM at Grace Brethren Church in Middlebranch with Pastor Jeffrey Brown officiating. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Burial Park. A special thank you is extended to the staff of D Wing at the Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center for their loving care given to Melvin for the past year.
