Melvin J. Coblentz, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 15, 2011. He was born January 18, 1933 at Uniontown, Ohio son of John A. M. and Nancy (Weaver) Coblentz. He was a faithful member of the Pleasant View A. M. Church. He was a life-long farmer. Melvin was preceded in death by his wife Barbara on August 12, 2004. Surviving are his 9 children Alta (Stephen) Hege of South Dakota, Susan (Perry) Miller of Sarasota, FL, Mary (Reuben) Miller of Abbeville, SC, Betty (Greg) Mishler of Hartville, Nancy (Duane) Eash of Gambier, OH, Judy (Ernest) Miller and Jean (Joseph) Miller all of Hillsville, VA, Leon (Marlene) and David (Tracy) all of Hartville; 29 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Atlee (Elsie) and Henry (Savilla); 2 sisters Anna (John Henry) and Mary (Joseph) Coblentz; and brother-in-law Earl Coblentz. Also preceded in death by 2 sisters Sarah and Clara. Calling hours are Sunday 2-4 & 6-9 PM at Bethany Mennonite Church in Hartville. Funeral services will be Monday 10 AM at Bethany Mennonite Church with Homer Zook officiating. Final resting place is Pleasant View A. M. Church Cemetery.
