Mayme (Mittelman) (Woll) Altman, age 87, of Canton, passed away Sunday morning, December 28, 2008 at the Inn at Belden Village. Born June 23, 1921 in Canton to the late Nathan and Mary (Markel) Mittelman. Mayme was a member of Temple Israel. She graduated from Lehman High School in 1939 and loved to travel. She volunteered in Japan at the USO and in the schools in Pakistan. Preceded in death by her first husband Jack Woll in 1973 and by a sister Rose Primack. Survived by her husband William Altman of Canton; son Gary L. Woll of North Canton; sister Freada Williams of Cincinnati; brother Sidney Mittelman of Canton. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in West Lawn Cemetery with Rabbi Leah M. Herz and Rabbi John Spitzer officiating. Memorials may be made to Temple Israel.
