Weisbrod

Max A. Weisbrod, age 93, of Canton, passed away Friday morning, June 18, 2010 at Aultman Hospital. He was born March 4, 1917 in Canton to Samuel and Bella Weisbrod and was a lifetime resident of Canton. He owned and operated Refrigeration and Heating Company for over 60 years. A 1935 McKinley High School graduate and 1937 graduate of Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. Mr. Weisbrod worked on the engineering team with General Electric that successfully developed the Electric Heat Pump. He served in the United States Army during WWII at Ft. Belvoir in Virginia training the engineers. Max was an active and dedicated member of Shaaray Torah Synagogue where he was a past president and board member. He participated in the ground breaking ceremony to build the current Synagogue in 1959. For over 60 years Max was the Sextant and record keeper for Canton Hebrew Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Sylvia; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Michael Hermanoff of Bingham Farms, Michigan; grandson, Jeffrey (Jungwon) Hermanoff and great grandson Aaron Hermanoff all of Columbia, Maryland. Funeral services will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at Shaaray Torah Synagogue with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. Interment will be in Canton Hebrew Cemetery.
