Matthew James Mann, 41, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep on August 16th, 2024 in Canton, Ohio, after having spent the day enjoying a family gathering. Matt had been diagnosed with sleep apnea the day before he passed.

Matt was born on January 24, 1983, in Peoria, Illinois to William and Joyce Mann.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Mann; mother-in-law, Debbie Scheppan; Grandparents, Ruth and James Mann; Neva and Howard Voegele; Harry Hansen and infant twin nephews, Kaleb and James Mann.

Matt is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 15 years, Jaime, with whom he shared the joy of raising their two sons, Landen and Titus Mann. He will be remembered for the love that he had for his family and friends, his big personality and the kindness that he showed to all who knew him. The more he loved you, the more colorful his greeting would be when he saw you.  He was the first to help anyone who needed it, and before leaving the company of friends or family, Matt always said, "I love you". He had a gregarious personality, and never knew a stranger. Matt loved his Buckeyes, and spent fall weekends with family and friends watching them play. He also enjoyed vacationing with his family and left them with many fond memories of their beach vacations. Matt graduated from Fairborn High School, where he played football for the Skyhawks. After graduation, he had many different jobs, learning skills from many trades. He could fix anything. Matt was the perfect example of a self-taught man. He began working at Gordon Food Service Distribution Center in 2007, gradually working his way up to the position of Transportation Supervisor. Matt loved spending time with his son, Landen, watching him play various sports in the Fairborn area. He was excited to watch Landen start high school and play football for his Alma Mater, Fairborn High School. He was also looking forward to watching Titus play ball. Matt will be remembered for his sarcasm, his humor, and for being a great human.

In addition to his wife and sons, Matt is survived by his father, William Mann, and his father-in-law, Dave Scheppan, his sisters, Michelle (John) Frost, Jennifer Mann, and his brother and best friend, Josh (Megan) Mann; sister-in-law, Sara Schultz; Michael (Karen) Baumann; his nephews and nieces,  Austin Mercer, Deacon and Alexa Frost, Logan, Lillian and Katelyn Mann, Damien and Brenna Mentzer, (Carolina) several wonderful family members & cousins; Grandmother, Carol Hansen; Aunt, Pam Hansen and cousins, Brett, Amanda and Grant McWilliams, Ryan, Katie and Harper Hansen, Maggie and Brandon Parks, and Maxine McClung, his GFS family, and many great friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the Vintage Venue on 9/21/2024, 12pm-6pm open to all; 6:01pm-10pm for Immediate family & close friends only.
