Maryannetta Nein Green Slabey, died on May 22, 2006 at Sunrise Assisted Living, of Wooster after a courageous bout with Alzheimer's. Born in Westfield, NJ May 13, 1926 to the late Harry Robert Nein and Catherine Besch Nein. Maryannetta graduated from Westfield High School and Miami University of Ohio where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She taught 1st-3rd grades in Canton, OH and Colorado Springs, moving from Canton to Wooster in 1987. She was a former Deacon at Church of the Covenant Presbyterian in Canton and a current member of First Presbyterian Church in Wooster. Survivors include her children: Cynthia (Daniel) Kronemyer of LaJolla, CA, Jeffrey Green of Amhurst, OH, Christopher (Allison) Green of Wooster, Whitney (Patricia) Green of Cincinnati, OH, Linda (William) Slabey Morris of Akron, OH. Adored by her grandchildren: Bradley (Ingrid), Britney, Kelsey, Brooks, Jack, Jensen, Madalyn, Alayna Maryannetta Green, Cade and Makena Kronemyer. Also survived by her sisters: Janet (Rea) Knight of Montana and Dorothy Fones of Michigan. She was preceded in death in 1980 by her first husband: Victor Green, and her second husband Vernon Slabey in 2004 as well as her older brother, Robert Nein. Maryannetta was a wonderful sister, wife, mother, and friend and will be missed by all lucky enough to have been part of her life. A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 14, 2006 in Church of the Covenant Presbyterian with Dr. William Watt officiating. A private interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
