Mary Ellen Wood, age 80, of Canton, passed away on Saturday October 22, 2011. She was born in Canton on July 4, 19XX to the late Lester and Daisy (Shively) Ley and graduated from Lehman High School. She worked at Ohio Bell and retired from Ansell Perry Co. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and survived by sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Sue Cross of Canton, Jon and Kim Cross of Troy, David Cross of Massillon, Shawn D. and Lisa Wood of Canton; grandchildren Ashley Cross, Heather and Jonathan Cross, Colton and Logan Cross, Danielle and Anna Wood; sister Nancy Jane and Elmer White of Canton; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband William R. Wood in 1997, grandson Jason Michael Buckette; and siblings Charles and James Ley, Charlotte Lupe, Ruth Adams and Jean Rice.
