Mary Thomas peacefully went to be with her Lord surrounded by family on October 23, 2024. She was 85 years old.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mary grew up strong in her faith, attending St. Wendelin High School, and graduating from Robert Morris College with a degree in secretarial studies. Mary spent most of her life creating a loving home for her family and friends. Mary spent nearly 15 years working for American Greetings, where she grew her love for greetings cards and made her "mad money."

As a two-time breast cancer survivor, Mary ingrained her resilience and strength into every person she came across. Mary was an avid gardener, a lover of Rod Stewart, and die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Mary is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Natalie Schaming, and her brother-in-law, Edwin Perry.

Mary is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Mervin Thomas, her sisters, Connie (Ronald) Liptak, and Elaine Perry, her children, Michael (Dawn) Thomas, Patricia (Jonathan) DeHaven-Caiazza, and Paul (Meegan) Thomas, and her six grandchildren, Trent, Darbi, Evyn, Brynn, Paige, and Max. Mary's family and friends are so thankful for all the time they got to spend with Mary, and she will be greatly missed.

Services will be held in Mary's honor on November 9, 2024, at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Uniontown, Ohio.
