Mary Kathryn Raber, age 79, of Hartville, went to be with the Lord on Monday November 13, 2023. She was born in Uniontown on May 4, 1944 to the late Abe and Leora Troyer.
Mary loved to read and learn. On Saturday mornings she would be found with her Bible, a commentary and notepad in preparation for teaching adult Sunday school. She was a faithful prayer warrior, and loved her family with an unconditional love. She had the ability to make each grandchild feel like they were her favorite. Mary loved well with acts of service, including making homemade pies, cookies and cinnamon rolls.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lavern; children Dale (Sharlene) Raber, Marilyn (John) Rowe, Claudia (Marcus) Sharp, Amy Shrock, Jonathan (Brittany) Raber; grandchildren Chelsea, Courtney (Ned), Drew, Chloe, Haley, Gabbi, Vanessa, Abigail (Josh), Carson, Jazlynne, Gianna, Lucia, Macklin, Beau; great-granddaughter Bailey; siblings Cal (Sadie) Troyer, Elizabeth (Homer) Zook, Leona (Ed) Overholt, Erma (Jesse) King, Edna (Ray) Coblentz, Al (Debi) Troyer, Jim (Miriam) Troyer, Ruby Troyer, Jr. (Janet) Troyer, and David (Regina) Troyer; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by sister Nancy (Dave) Sommers.
Calling hours are Friday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Bethany Mennonite Church. A graveside committal service for the family will be Saturday 9 AM at Walnut Grove Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled Saturday 11 AM in the church for all to attend with Pastors Matt Zook and Marcus Sharp officiating.
