Mary Ann Hartman, age 77, of North Canton formerly of Medina, passed away Saturday morning in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. She was born August 31, 1939 in Cleveland to John and Mildred (Mach) Svoboda and graduated from Regina High School in South Euclid. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton and had been a member of Our Lady Help of Christians in Litchfield. Mary Ann worked at the Liberty Street Deli in Medina and the Danbury in North Canton in the food service area. She was exceptionally kind and generous, and she loved nature and animals which led her to volunteer at the Stark County Humane Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Hartman in 1989 and a brother John Svoboda. Survivors include her children and spouses, Melannie Hartman (Michael Tuffly) of Boulder, Colorado, John & Anne Hartman of Churchville, New York, Lori & Dan Telesz of North Canton, Matthew & Lisa Hartman of Medina, Christopher & Stacey Hartman of Painesville, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Paul & Charlene Svoboda of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; sister-in-law, Mary Svoboda of Chardon; her sister, Sister Melannie (Dolly) Svoboda SND of Chardon; grandchildren, Rebecca & Marissa Hartman, Aaron, Zachary & Cameron Telesz, Benjamin & Olivia Hartman, Reece & Owen Hartman, a niece and two nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton with Fr. Daniel Finnerty celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Medina. Calling hours are Monday 5-8:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton. Memorial contributions are requested to the Stark County Humane Society.
