Mary Jane Eakin, age 80, of Massillon, passed away Thursday night October 15, 2009 at Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar. She was born December 7, 1928 in Canton to E.C. and Pauline (Lease) Hiltabridle. Mary graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. She was a member of Reedurban Presbyterian Church, Coterie Club and the Association for Retarded Children. Mary Jane loved the beach, the ocean, lighthouses, reading and being an avid Democrat. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jerry L. Eakin in 2004, son Scott K. Eakin in 2003, a niece Karen S. Taylor and sister, Dorothy Taylor. She is survived by her children and grandchildren who were the joy and love of her life, son and daughter-in law, Tim and Cindy Eakin of Xenia, Ohio, daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Eakin of Cleveland; grandchildren, Scott V. & Matt G. Eakin, Emily Jane Eakin. Nieces & nephew Paula K. Yates, Dale S (Sandy) Taylor. Great nieces & nephews, Sara L. & Jay Yates, Jill & Michael Nemeth, Jordan Robinson, Todd Taylor. Funeral services will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with Rev Darrell Holmes officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 4-6:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday (10-11:00a.m.) Memorial donations are requested to Stark County Hospice.
