Mary Jane Brown, age 87, of Canton, died Monday afternoon in the Canton Regency. Born in Canton to the late John R. & Wilma (Newton) Spiker the former owners of the Spiker Barbeque (presently Kennedy's). Mary Jane was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Canton Woman's Club, Nazir Ladies Shrine and Woman's Aux of the PHCC. She was preceded in death in 2007 by her husband of 60 years: Elmer James Brown "Brownie" former owner and operator of Miracle Plumbing & Heating. Survivors include a daughter: Shirley (Jerome) Pruett, Son: Steven J. (Cathy) Brown all of Jackson Township. Four grandchildren: Jerome (Tammie) Pruett, Derek Pruett, Kyle (Andrea) Brown and Courtney Anderson. Four great grandchildren: Abbi, Audrey, Ava and Hannah. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Louis Shaheen, Meals On Wheels and the nurses and staff of the Canton Regency. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Rev. C. David Morgan officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
