Mary E. Bontrager, age 83 of Hartville passed away Monday March 27, 2006 at Altercare of Hartville. She was born in Sherrodville, Ohio on February 17, 1923 to the late Dewey Clifford and Mary (McCartney) Smith. Mary was a graduate of Hartville High School. She was a member of the Hartville United Church of Christ, the church's service guild and the "Go-Getters". Preceded in death by her husband David S. Bontrager in 1988; son David E. Bontrager; and sisters Edna Smith and Gladys McClintock. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and James R. Beck of Royal Palm Beach, FL; granddaughters, Michele Renna (Emilio) Torres and Alicia Cathleen Beck; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Lauren and Emilio James Torres; brother John (Clarice) Smith of Hartville; and nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to services 10-11 AM Friday in the church. Funeral services will be held Friday 11 AM in the Celebration Worship Center, Hartville UCC, 414 S. Prospect, with Pastor Stu King officiating. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
