Mary E. (Betty) Ide, age 96, of North Canton died Friday morning in the Canton Regency. Born April 29, 1913 in Sydney, Ohio to the late Earl and Rose (Sherman) Zimpfer. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter Vicki L. Snyder in 1994 and her husband Elmer Ide in 1999. Betty was of Catholic faith and is survived by her dear brother Art Zimpfer of Troy, OH; two nieces & four nephews; special friend Marcia Coen & her family and her three dogs who would visit her frequently. Betty was retired from the M. O'Neil Company (Macys'). Betty enjoyed reading and had a thirst for knowledge. She tirelessly cared for Vicki and Elmer during their illnesses. An avid Cleveland Indians fan she was looking forward to the start of spring training. Many thanks to the staff of the Canton Regency for their sincere care of Betty. It was her wishes to be cremated and the interment of cremains will take place in Sydney, OH at a later date.
