Martha (Marty Edwards) Brannan, age 89, of Canton passed away Thursday evening in her residence. Born in Canton to the late Albert and Roxie (Brumbaugh) Ricker, she was a life resident. Marty was a 1945 graduate of Lehman High School, charter member of Church of the Lakes United Methodist, former president and member of Westark Republican Women, and former member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. Marty was a great mom, a fun-loving friend, and helped many disabled/elderly friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Brannan, and three brothers, James, Ed, and Roger Ricker. She is survived by her daughter, retired Judge Julie A. Edwards of Canton and son, James W. (Janet) Edwards of East Canton. Two grandchildren, Jeremy and Angela Edwards, also survive. Funeral service will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. in Church of the Lakes United Methodist with Pastor Bryan George officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
