Martha S. Edwards, age 87, of Canton, OH passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024.  She died peacefully at home after a brief battle with brain cancer.  She was born January 6, 1937 at home on the family farm in Wadsworth, OH. She was the middle child of the late Henry and Elta (Rohrer) Kilmer.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Mark Edwards, and by her sons Douglas (Elizabeth) Weingart, Stephen (Beth) Weingart, her stepdaughter Shannon Edwards; grandchildren Austin (Bethany) Weingart, Jessica (Benito) Salazar, Olivia (Ben) Karam, Brandon Edwards and Sawyer Edwards.

After graduating from Wadsworth High School, she attended Malone College, where she met her first husband, Galen Weingart (deceased).  She served by his side for 23 years as a pastor's wife at several pastorates for the Evangelical Friends Church.

During her lifetime she worked many different jobs to help support her family, but she was most proud of her time working as an Administrative Assistant at Netcare Corp., a mental health care and counseling facility in Columbus, Ohio. She retired from Netcare after 22 years of devoted service.

Martha had a deep love of people and wonderful sense of humor. She was well known for her gift of hospitality, and spent untold hours volunteering for her church, and serving on many church and denominational committees. She inspired the respect and trust of others through her openness and integrity.

Calling hours will be held Monday, November 25 from 9:00 – 11:00 am at Canton First Friends Church. The funeral service will be held immediately following at 11:00am at the church.
