Marjorie May (Degenhardt) Hoffee, age 89, went to be with her Lord on September 15, 2013. She was born in Pittsburgh to the late Jacob and Hilda (Pistorius) Degenhardt. After graduating from Carrick High School in 1942, she attended Iron City Business College. Marjorie worked in the family business at Degenhardt Real Estate and Insurance Agency. She married Frederick James Hoffee, son of Chester and Beulah (Correll) Hoffee, on April 28, 1944 in Pittsburgh and then relocated to Canton in 1949. Marjorie was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Canton and King's Daughters in Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by siblings, Herbert, Dorothy and Eleanor. Marjorie is survived by her children; Lois (Dr. James) Gaines, of Texas; Donna Schott and James Hoffee of Canton and Ellen Hoffee of Cuyahoga Falls. Brother, Donald (Joan) Degenhardt of Maryland; sister-in-law JoAnne Bucher of Tennessee and Daughter-in-law, Pamela Schumacher of Canton. She had four wonderful grandchildren: Jamie (Sara) and Jordan Hoffee of Canton; Justin Hoffee of Columbus, Ohio and Jason (Lara) Gaines of Texas. Two great-grandchildren: Alyssa Hoffee of Canton and James Gaines III of Texas also survive. The family would like to especially thank Diane Diekmann, Marjorie's devoted patient advocate and friend. Marjorie will be profoundly missed by all. A memorial service for family and friends will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, at Trinity United Church of Christ. A private interment in North Lawn Cemetery will be held. Please sign the guest book.
