Marjorie June (Chenot) Cox age 94 of Hartville passed away on Saturday, November 17th 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 18th, 1918 near Louisville, Ohio, daughter to the late Ora Pearl and Charles Wesley Chenot. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Arthur Willis Cox, 3 sisters, Marie Kettering, Evelyn Bennett and Kathlyn Campbell, and 3 brothers, Arthur Chenot, Carl Chenot, and Richard Chenot. Survivors include a sister, Polly Jacob of Canton, children Thomas (Cherie) Cox of Hartville, Edward (Linda) Cox of North Canton, Christopher (Amy) Cox of Central, SC, and Jane (Donna) Cox of Kent, nine grandchildren, one great grandson, many nieces and nephews, and her faithful golden retriever, Rudy. She was a lifetime member of Zion United Church of Christ in North Canton, where she and Art were married Christmas Eve 1940. Over the years she served as a teacher, deacon, and elder. She shared with her family a love for animals, travel, card and board games, and reading and poetry. She graduated as a registered nurse from Akron City Hospital in 1939. Her nursing career included working at the Hoover Company infirmary and then in home health care with the Visiting Nurses Society for many years, retiring in 1981. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton and one hour prior to services Wednesday in the church (10-11 AM). Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11 AM at Zion United Church of Christ with Rev. Eli Klingensmith officiating. Final resting place is North Canton Cemetery.
