Marilyn S. Jones, We have lost a loved one but heaven has gained another angel! Marilyn Schoman Jones, 80, of Lake Cable, was an admired wife, mother, sister, aunt, teacher, friend & volunteer extraordinaire! Preceded in death by her husband Robert H. (Bob) Jones, parents Benjamin and Grace Schoman & brother-in-law, Donald Achauer. She is survived by daughter Jennifer Jones of N. Canton, OH, son Robert (Rob) Jones & wife Elizabeth of Columbia, SC, grandchildren Hillary, Lauren, Sarah & Wesley, sister Barbara Achauer & family, niece Alice Springer & family, her former students & a multitude of friends. A graduate of Canton Lincoln High School she was an active member of their Alumni Association. She was a Kent State graduate and taught school briefly in the Canton City School system at Baxter, several years at a private Kindergarten then as a first grade teacher at Lake Cable Elementary in the Jackson Local School System until retirement. She lead the Safety Village Program in Jackson for many years, volunteered on several Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival committees, Jackson Belden Chamber of Commerce, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority Alumni, Delta Kappa Gamma, Stark County Retired Teachers Association to name a few. She was recognized with awards for her many achievements most recently as being inducted by the Jackson High School Alumni Association to their Wall of Fame as an outstanding staff member. A celebration of Marilyn's life will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 25th in St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church 4600 Fulton Dr., N.W. with Pastor Kimberly Vaughn officiating. A private interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in church on Monday.
