IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn R.
Cooper
April 14, 1944 – June 8, 2024
Marilyn R. Cooper
We are celebrating the life of Marilyn Cooper(Budrow, Ditch). Formerly of Massillon OH and Sebring OH. Marilyn attended school at Jackson High School. She had many jobs over her years of so many types, but a few of her favorites were Reis Meat Market in Canal Fulton, Marshalville Packing and Sebring Country Club in Sebring OH. She also ran her own restaurant called Marilyn's Country Kitchen on the corner of 93 and Lincolnway in Massillon OH.
This is a woman with a giving and helping heart. She never met a stranger. Everyone who knew her loved her. She could do anything from running restaurants, cooking meals for 100 family and friends, baking cookies and candies at Christmas time, renovating houses including plumbing and electric and loving on her children and grandchildren.
Born April 19,1944 as 1 of 6 kids to Ruth Hasler and Grant Ditch with 5 siblings. Grant (Sonnly), Judy (Barkman), Gary, Greg and Barbara (Thomas Calvert). Married originally to Dan Budrow, then later to John Cooper and having 3 children who are Sharon (Riggle, Heidt) Michael (Carla Myers) and stepdaughter Aren. She also had 12 grandchildren Jason, Bradley, Kyle, Michelle, Kevin Heidt and Wayne Riggle, Nick Myers, Michael and Tiana Budrow (Zack Keith), Ayden, Iris and Arleigh. With that she has amassed 8 Great Grandchildren Alex, Rylie, Kiera, Braden, Star, Lola, Jake, Zayne and Thorton. One Great Great Grandchild rounds out this family, Saleah and 14 nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth and father, Grant, 2 brothers, Grant (Sonny) and Gary and 2 grandchildren, Kevin and Kyle Heidt.
Marilyn enjoyed helping everyone and donating her time and energy to anyone needing it. She loved her mini farm and horses, gardening and living the country life. Her life was cut short with the onset of Alzheimer's for the last 7 years. Even in that she made the nurses at Shady Lawn Nursing in Dalton, OH fall in love with her and laugh as she kept them on their toes with her nick name being Houdini! All the nurses sat and told us stories about the part of her life we missed out on. She has left a legacy that will live on in all that knew her. We want to thank Linda Helfin (her niece) for all the time, effort and money she put in to being guardian for Marilyn. She has done an amazing job looking out for her best interest and even dealing with her own things through all this.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Also thank you to Shady Lawn Nursing in Dalton, OH for all their love and care and Traditions Hospice Care and Cathy Murphy for being there at the end to make her comfortable.
