Marie Joan (Abbott) Golightly, age 68, of Uniontown, went to the Lord on Tuesday afternoon March 2, 2010. She was born June 25, 1941 in Hay Springs, NE and graduated from Hay Springs High School in 1959. The same year, she met and married Bob Golightly in Rapid City, SD while he was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Military assignments and career moves had the family living in Morocco and numerous States, finally settling in Ohio approximately 20 years ago. No matter where the family lived, Marie always made her home a place of love and care. Preceded in death by her father Orville A. Abbott, she is survived by her husband Bob; mother Norabelle (Votruba) Abbott of NE; children Dannette Golightly of MI, Robin Hickman of Hartville, Brian (Marie) Golightly of MI, Teresa Fisher of Hartville; grandchildren Christina (Ryan) Hoy, David Golightly, Adam Golightly, Liane Golightly, Carrie Hickman, Danielle Golightly, Robert Fisher; great-grandson Logan Hoy; siblings Marion (Adrian) Gasseling of NE, William James (Sandy) Abbott of NE; and numerous loving relatives and friends. Calling hours are Sunday 3-6 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home Hartville and one hour prior to services Monday 10-11 AM at New Baltimore Community Church. Funeral services are Monday 11 AM in the church with Pastor Ken Baker officiating. Final resting place is Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Memorial contributions may be made to New Baltimore Community Church where Marie served as a Preschool Sunday School Teacher and on the Hospitality Committee.
