Marie E. Smith, age 98 , formerly of Canton, more recently of Findlay, OH died in Findlay on Thursday morning. Born in Canton to the late Peter J. and Elizabeth Ann (Fierstos) Fesne she was a secretary for Republic Stamp and Enameling and had worked at the Palace Theatre and the Letter Shop. Marie was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Canton Lady Elk's, Canton Sorosis Club, and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society for 12 years. An avid bowler for over 50 years, Marie was inducted into the Ladies Bowling Hall of Fame in 1984. Preceded in death by her 1st husband and a son: Adrian and Harold Wiggins also by her 2nd husband: Carl H. Smith, and three brothers: Lee, Clarence, and Harry Fesne. Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. George (Carol) Ruckstuhl of New Jersey and Mrs. Forest (Sally) Evans of Findlay. Son: James L. Smith of Bradenton, FL. Seventeen grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be Tuesday 1:00 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W. with Msgr. Frank Carfagna officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
