Margie J. Franta (Harland)
took her place in heaven on November 29, 2018, two days after her 95th birthday. Margie was born November 27, 1923, to the late Everette and Mae Harland in Lebanon, Ohio. Margie lived her life as an example to others fostering faith, kindness, empathy, goodness and love everywhere. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Franta; twin sons, Victor and Vincent; brothers, Charles and William Harland; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas (Ginger), Mary Ellen Franta, Irene (James) Bowermaster and Rose (Carl) Cochran. For Margie, family was her most valued possession. She kept her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins all connected to one another. She is survived by her children, Philip (Myriam), Dennis, Timothy, Diane Kabatek and Mark (Barbara) Franta; grandchildren, Denise, David (Jennifer), John (Leah), Matthew (Diana), Jennifer Franta, Joey, Michael Kabatek, Paul (Megan), Benjamin (Francesca) Franta; 13 great grandchildren. In 1943 Margie married Edward who was on leave from the Army Air Corp, and they danced their way through 59 years of marriage. Special thanks to the staffs of the Canton Christian Home, Aultman Hospital, and Community Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Margie in her time of need. Also special mention to niece, Cindy DeMarco (Cochran), who was unsurpassed to her devotion to Margie through the years. Margie loved trees, hot black coffee, cream sticks, red lipstick and bracelets. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Fr. G. David Weikart as officiant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service in the church on Tuesday.
