Margaret A. Ritchie, age 77, of North Canton, passed away Tuesday morning October 20, 2009 at Aultman Hospital. She was born in Canton on July 30, 1932 to the late Emerson W. and Phoebe (James) Erskine. After graduating from North Canton High School and Canton Actual Business College, Margaret earned her associate degree from Kent State University. She was a Legal Secretary and also worked at the Art Department of the Hoover Company. Throughout the years, Margaret had been a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She enjoyed tennis at Branhaven and North Canton Racquet Club and she enjoyed Curves. Preceded in death by her husband James in 2003, sons Thomas in 1963 and Todd in 1996 and brother John Erskine; she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Molly and Michael Murphy of Magnolia, sister Linda Coolidge of Wooster, brother Herbert (Virginia) Erskine of North Olmsted and grandchildren Kelly Murphy, Julie (Matthew) Freday all of Canton and Michael Murphy of Magnolia; and other relatives and friends. A Memorial service will be held Friday 7 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to services Friday 5-7 PM in the funeral home.
