Margaret Jane Kress, age 97, formerly of Atwater and Hartville went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2007 at Roselawn Terrace in Alliance. Born in New England, West Virginia (near Parkersburg) on April 17, 1910 to the late John Mason and Minnie Martha (Schrader) Wigal, she moved to Ohio in the 1940's. She married William C. Kress in 1945. During WW II she was a riveter on the production line at Goodyear. Margaret was an active member of Hartville Church of Christ and of Marlboro TOPS. She enjoyed farming and quilting. Preceded in death by her husband William in 1987; brothers, Carl, Gilbert, Cecil and Kenneth. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and David Unkefer of Uniontown, Anita and Tom Pontius of Alliance, Charlene and Larry Straight of Washington, PA and Leila and George Nemet of Mogadore; grandchildren Lora and Steve Cassetty of Suffield, Wayne Unkefer of Akron, Linda and Del Vannatter of Marengo, OH, Elaine and Glenn Weisent, Duane and Chris Pontius, Shari and Wayne Pritts all of Alliance, Danielle and Troy Shepherd, Keith and Becca Straight all of PA, Teresa and Joe Sidoti of Warren, Craig Nemet and fiancée Lisa Butler of Ravenna; great-grandchildren Hannah, Adam and John Cassetty, Austin and David Unkefer, Tyler and Aaron Jacob Vannatter, Derek, Justin and Sarah Weisent, Kylie and Colton Pontius, Nikki and Leah Pritts, Alicia, Alexa, Allison and Joshua Stover, Joey and Jordan Sidoti, and Kresson Shepherd. Calling hours were Sunday 5-7 PM and Monday 1-2 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville. Funeral services were Monday 2 PM in the funeral home with Dean Miller officiating. Final resting place is New Baltimore Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hartville Church of Christ Building Fund.
