Margaret Raff Hague, age 85 of Canton, passed away Tuesday morning, May 20, 2008 in her residence. She was born in Canton September 20, 1922 to Richard Davis and Margaret Elizabeth (Kuhns) Raff Sr. Margaret was a graduate of Walnut Hill School (Natick, MA)and Finch Jr. College (New York). Mrs. Hague and her husband Thomas M. Hague lived and worked in Sydney, Australia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Tokyo, Japan; Hong Kong and Chicago before returning to Canton. While in Japan Mrs. Hague served as world wide President of Ikebana International. Margaret was a dedicated and active member of the Canton community serving as President of the Board of The Altman Home, a member of the Line and Design Garden Club, the Canton Art Institute, Canton Symphony, the Stark County Wilderness Society, and an enthusiastic supporter of the Canton Historical Society. Tom and Margaret made significant contributions of Asian artifacts to The Chicago Art Institute and The Cleveland Art Institute. Margaret is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Hague; sons and daughters-in-law, Will Browne and Dee Dee Gavigan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jon and Kathy Browne of Hendersonville, North Carolina, daughter-in-law, Pat Browne of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Deirdre Browne of Boston, Massachusetts, Zebulon Browne of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kelly Anne Browne of Tallahassee, Florida, Jeffrey Browne of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Todd Browne of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her son Doug Browne in 2007. A memorial service will be Friday 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church with The Reverend Barbara Bond officiating. Interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church (10-11:00 a.m.).
