Manuel Katz, age 90, of North Canton, passed away Friday morning, August 7, 2009 at his residence in The Colonies at Windsor Medical Center. He was born on September 21, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Morris and Bella (Blatoff) Katz. Manuel attended the Spring Garden Institute of Engineering in Philadelphia and was the sales manager of the automotive division of Akro. He was a member of Temple Israel. Manuel was also a 32nd degree Mason and an avid fisherman. Manuel was a kind and loving husband to his wife of 69 years Henrietta "Pat" (Zimmerman) Katz. Also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Marcia and (Harvey) Nixon of Cincinnati, OH and Beverly (Steven) Greene of Riverwoods, IL. Sister, Dorothy Woldar of Vineland, NJ. He also adored his five grandchildren, Andrew (Jennifer) Nixon, Ivan Nixon, Bradley Nixon, Seth Greene and Erica Greene and his two great-grandchildren Joshua and Abigail Nixon. Services will be held on Monday at 1:30 PM at Temple Israel with Rabbi Leah Herz and Rabbi John Spitzer officiating. Interment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery.
