Malee H. Lapczynski, age 83, of Hartville died Thursday May 10, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio following a year long fight with MDS. She was born on December 29, 1923 to the late Clyde "Tub" and Edith (Baker) Helmick and was raised in Mannington, West Virginia. She attended nursing school in Wheeling, West Virginia. After traveling the world with her late husband, Tom E. Lapczynski, while he served in the US Air Force, she spent the majority of her career as a Neonatal R.N. at Mercy Medical Center. Malee was known for her quick wit and determination. Also preceded in death by sons, Richard and David Lapczynski, brother "Bee" Helmick. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law; Barbara and Jim Clark of Hartville, Ohio, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Donna Lapczynski of Knoxville, Tennessee; and a host of family and friends.
