Magdalena "Mag" Detweiler, age 76, of Hartville, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Friday July 5, 2013. She was born on October 10, 1936 in Uniontown, Ohio to the late John L. and Alta (Yoder) Sommers, one of eleven children. She married David Detweiler on September 7, 1962 and together raised three children. She was a member of the Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching. More than anything, she loved the Lord, spending time with her family, her sisters and her five treasured granddaughters. Preceded in death by her husband David in 1999; infant daughter; four siblings George Sommers, Edna Sommers, Anna Mae Hershberger and Elson Sommers. She is survived by her children Angela (Dave) Schlabach, David A. (Christine) Detweiler and Eunice (Ryan) Beachy all of Hartville; granddaughters Kristin and Arianna Schlabach, Robyn, Kayla and Cassidy Beachy; siblings Clyde Sommers, Vera Overholt, Martha (Al) Gingerich, Ruby (Aden) Miller, Levi (Nora) Sommers and Rachel (Paul) Miller; and sister-in-law Anna Sommers. Calling hours are Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Bethany Mennonite Church, 3497 Edison St. NE (Route 619), Hartville, and ½ hour prior to services Saturday 9:30-10 AM. Funeral services are Saturday 10 AM at Bethany Mennonite Church with Eugene Sommers officiating. Final resting place is Walnut Grove Cemetery.
