Madge L. Schlemmer, age 86, of Canton, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013. She was born in Canton to the late Adam and Belva (Mottice) Shirk. Madge was a 1945 graduate of Lehman High School and had attended Muskingum College. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and a past member of Oakwood Country Club. In addition to her parents Madge was preceded in death by her husband James R. Schlemmer. She is survived by a son, James Schlemmer of Canton and a brother, Sherwood "Woody" Shirk of North Canton. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the chapel of Trinity United Church of Christ with Rev. Gary Proietti officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ 3909 Blackburn Rd. N.W.
