Mabel Weaver, age 97, of Hartville, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, November 14, 2022 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. She was born in Uniontown, Ohio on November 27, 1924 to the late Valentine and Rebecca (King) Schlabach. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother having over 100 members in her immediate family. Mabel was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church since 1942, where she pieced and sewed many comforters for MCC. She was known for her delicious pies and enjoyed family gatherings in her home. She volunteered at the Hartville Thrift Shoppe until she was 92 years old.
Preceded in death by husband Ernest; daughters Anita Weaver, Ruth (Eugene) Miller, and daughter-in-law Martha Weaver; 7 siblings Alta (Jake) Beachy, Lester (Sylvia) Schlabach, Emma (Phineas) Miller, Magdalena (Levi) Troyer, Lydia (Jonas) Miller, Crist (Amanda) Schlabach, and Nelson Schlabach. She is survived by her children, Marvin (Rheda) Weaver, Rebecca (Thomas) Lubbers, Pauline Webb, Deborah (Thomas) Hough, Thomas (Julie) Weaver, Leona (Laverne) Sommers, Steven (Clare) Weaver, Janet (Clark) Lovrien, Timothy (Linda) Weaver; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are Thursday 5-8 PM at Maple Grove Mennonite Church. Funeral services are Friday 10 AM in the church with Pastor Tom Hough officiating. Final resting place is Walnut Grove Cemetery.
The family is grateful for loving care from Community Hospice and staff. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hartville Thrift Shoppe.
