Lucille "Bubby" Sawyer, age 88, of Canton went to be with the Lord on Tuesday due to complications from a stroke on November 25th, 2009, she has resided in Canton for the past 19 years. Bubby was born on December 25th 1921 in Charleston, West Virginia to George and Virginia (Clementine) Basher. Later in life she moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she raised three Children and retired from nursing in 1982 after 30 years service. In addition to her parents Bubby is preceded in death by a son Jerry Ortinski, sister; Kay and brothers; Dave and George. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Jim) Abbuhl of Canton and son, James Mencken of Florida, grandchildren; Jerry, Richard, Linda, Patty, Angela (Marty) Doan, and Priscilla (Matt) Doan, great-grandchildren; Ethan, Jayden, Dominic and many friends. A private service will be held for the family.
