Obituary

Louise (Beanie) St. John Hattersley passed away on December 31, 2006 in Altercare of Nobles Pond. She was born in Ashtabula, OH on November 13, 1918 to Carl and Jennie Millberg. Before coming to the Canton area in 1949, she had been involved in newspaper and public affairs work as well as an administrative assistant at the Veteran Administration in Columbus, OH. She became a member of Church of the Savior United Methodist of Canton. Other memberships included P.E.O. Chapter CX, Canton Woman's Club, 50 year charter member and past president of Aboretum Garden Club, First Ladies Library, Friends of the Canton District Library, McKinley Museum Auxiliary, former Timken Mercy Service League, Brookside Country Club, Glenmoor Country Club, Canton Club and Lady Elks. At Brookside she played golf for many years in the 9 & 18 hole leagues. Her first husband, Robert F. St. John preceded her in death in 1973 as did her sister, Alice M. Freetly, brothers Reuben and Leonard Millberg and niece Carol Sheppard in later years. Surviving are her husband: Robert F. Hattersley, brother Norman R. Millberg, step children Carol (William) Branch of Jupiter, FL; Judith (Richard) Kelley of Stow, MA, Two grandchildren Stephanie (Ian) Hurst of Atlantic City and Ashley Kelley of Stanford CA. Stepson John (Jacqueline) Hattersley of Skaneateles, NY. Two grandchildren Stacy Hattersley af Manchester, CT and Michael Hattersley of Skaneateles, NY Nieces, Kay Alice DiMare, Janet Skirtch, Susan Lockwood and Nancy Stower. Nephews, Stanton Sheppard, Jon Freetly (Peggy), Charles (Kathleen), Gary, (Linda), Mark (Karen) and David (Iren) Millberg and several great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday in Church of the Savior United Methodist with Dr. William R. Harvey officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Church of the Savior United Methodist 120 Cleveland Ave SW Canton, OH 44702.
