Obituary

Louise Gilmore Gibbs, age 89, passed away 12/15/21. A lifetime resident of Canton, Louise was a real estate broker with Pat Hall, Cutler and Dehoff agencies and managed her family's business, The Edgewater Apartments. She will be missed by her 3 children, Richard P. Gibbs (Debra), Robert A. Gibbs (Christine), Julie Churchman (David); 9 grandchildren, Justin Appell, Jeffrey Sloan, Kelly Swanson, Kristen Grady, Katie Burgett, Heather Churchman, Lauren Jallick, Erin Barr and Dr. Ashley Zerweck; 13 great grandchildren, (Isabel, Andrew and Lillian Swanson), (Gibson Grady), (Reese and Saylor Burgett), (Tegan and Trace Jallick), (Logan, Olivia and Matthew Barr), and (Benjamin and Charlie Zerwick). Louise was active in the Canton professional, civic and church communities as a member of The Canton Board of Realtors, The Margaret B. Shipley Child Health Clinic, Visiting Nurse Hospice and Child Health Foundation, St. Mark's Episcopal Church Vestry Committee, Junior League of Stark County Ohio, Canton Woman's Club, Line and Design Garden Club, Canton Symphony Orchestra, McKinley Museum, Walsh Women's Committee and Congress Lake Garden Club. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Gibbs; daughter, Deborah Sloan; parents, Patrick and Emma Gilmore; and brother, Raymond Gilmore. In lieu of flowers, Louise loved the Canton Symphony Orchestra. A mass for Louise at St. Mark's Episcopal Church to be held after the holidays on a date to be determined.
