Louis Serapiglia, age 83, of Canton, passed away peacefully after a brief courageous battle at Aultman Hospital Tuesday morning, September 22, 2015, with family at his side. Born in Canton, OH to the late Loreto and Mary (Frascone) Serapiglia, he attended Lehman High School and served in the Army stationed in Berlin during the Korean War. Louis retired from Portec Inc. and was a member of Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, AMVETS, VFW, Polish Club, and Slovak Club. He will be remembered as a hardworking, very generous, caring person with talents for gardening, cooking, and wine making. He truly enjoyed the outdoors and being active to the end. Louis is survived by his children, MaryJo (Pat) Bowen of Canton, LuAnn (Jerry) Cerreta of Uniontown, Mike (Chris) of Middlebranch, Valerie (Tim Kiger) Tomic of Canton, Louis (Mary) of N. Canton; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Sally) Sirpilla of Malvern; nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roberto Sirpilla and sister, Rose Feezor. A special thank you to Drs. Schmotzer, Kar, and Manohar and Aultman Hospital staff involved with his care. A graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday in North Lawn Cemetery with The Very Reverend Ronald M. Klingler as officiant. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, 627 McKinley Ave NW, Canton, OH 44703. Please sign the guest book.
