Loretta K. Shackelford, age 85, went home to be with the Lord after a long illness on November 2, 2024. Born August 3rd, 1939, in Akron, she was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and the University of Akron and lived most of her life in Hartville. She retired from Congress Lake Club as the controller, and she enjoyed bowling, golfing and spending time with her family.  Loretta was a long-time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and most recently a member at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Uniontown. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Norma Rex; husband, Edward; and brother-in-law, Donald Eberwine, Loretta is survived by her son James (Teresa) Shackelford; sisters, Roberta (Bill) Robinson, Theresa Eberwine, nieces Brandy (Mark) Moorhead and Brooke (John) Barickman; granddaughter, Colette Shackelford; grandniece Emma, and grandnephews, Ryan, Joseph, John, Luke, Andrew, Noah and Dean. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, November 6, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Parish (1800 Steese Rd, Uniontown Ohio 44685) followed by the Funeral Mass, with Father David Durkee presiding. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
