Linda Kay Donley, 84, of North Canton passed away on May 23, 2024, surrounded by the love of her daughters after a short battle with cancer. Linda was born on March 19,1940 in New Castle, Pa to Albert and Katherine Laurel. Linda was a graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College in Pennsylvania. She spent 30 years in education as an elementary teacher and retired from Lake Local School District. Her greatest role in life was that of a devoted mother and grandmother. She always said that the birth of her daughters and grandchildren changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support that she provided. Linda played the role of mother and father to her two daughters in a time when that wasn't common. Despite her struggles as a single divorced mother, she always provided a loving and warm home for her children.

Linda enjoyed traveling and spent countless hours planning vacations for her friends and family. Travel agents often told her that she should be a travel agent. She was fortunate to be able to travel to so many places within the United States and Europe. Linda also enjoyed cruising. In the last several years she went on several cruises with her daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoyed planning social events with her friends. The summer was her favorite time of the year as she enjoyed many outdoor activities, particularly concerts and Gervasi. She enjoyed her friends and time at the Waterford, Independent Living Home in North Canton and was so hopeful that she would be able to return there.

Linda is proceeded in death by her parents, Albert Perry Laurel and Katherine Louise Laurel. She is survived by her daughters; Laurel (Philip) Ivey, Lynn (Rick) Brown, grandchildren; Madison, Zachary, and Katelyn, and sister; Bonnie Schweikert. Linda will be desperately missed by all those that she's left behind.

Our hearts are broken by this loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

Her family is planning a private celebration of life and will be celebrating her on a family cruise at a later date.
