Obituary

Lillian E. Van Almen, age 98, of Canton died Sunday evening in the Canton Christian Home. Born in Caldwell, OH to the late George E. and Mary W. (Lauer) Feik, she had resided here since 1913. Lillian had worked at Stern & Mann's and retired from Boyle Midway where she was a Bookeeper. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for nearly 40 years, Canton Woman's Club, was a Red Cross Volunteer in the Emergency Room at Mercy Medical Center, was a bowler with the Breakfast Club and Oakwood Country Club, and was also a charter member of both Junior Sorosis and Trirosis Clubs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters: Freda, Hilma and Helen and a brother Victor. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law: Peggy and Paul Zink of Massillon. Daughter: Miss Jane Van Almen of Buffalo Grove, Ill. Grandson and granddaughter-in-law: Paul and Renee Zink of Gahanna, OH. Granddaughter and grandson-in-law: Beth and Steve Potere of Canton. A graveside service will be 1:30 P.M., Thursday, April 5, 2007 in Sunset Hills Burial Park with Pastor Darlene E. Gregu officiating. A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2007 in Trinity Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of the Canton Christian Home for there loving care and concern for Lillian. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 415 Tuscarawas St., W. Canton, OH 44702 or to the Canton Christian Home 2550 Cleveland Ave., N.W. Canton, OH 44709.
