Lester John Riegler Age 89, passed away August 31, 2011 at the Palliative Care Unit of Aultman Hospital. He was born March 28, 1922 to the late Lester J. and Edna (Daniel) Riegler. He retired from Republic (LTV) Steel after 30 plus years. Lester, affectionately known as John to his family, was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn J. (Weaver) Riegler. Also preceded by brothers Paul, Norman, Robert and sister Elizabeth Frutschy. He served in the Navy during WW II, was a sixty-five year member of Hoover Lodge #770 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, York Rite, Legacy Chapter #596 OES and a life member of First Church of the Resurrection (United Church of Christ). Survivors include a brother Daniel (JoAnn) Riegler of North Canton and sisters Maryalice Gonnuscio of Utah, Pauline vanMuyden, Bertha Riegler, Donna Saari and Ida Mae Riegler all of California and Helen Wentworth of Canton; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends Beverly Tomer and Jeanne Shaw. Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, September 6 from 4:00 PM- 7:00 PM with a Masonic Service at 6:30 PM at Arnold Funeral Home (Canton). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Mont and Nephew Reverend John Mather officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or First Church of the Resurrection.
