Lester V. Boydelatour, age 79 of Canton passed away Sunday evening, June 3, 2007 in Manor Care at Belden Village. Les was born in Canton to Earl and Eda (Barthelmeh) Boydelatour, has been a lifetime resident of Canton, graduated from Lehman High School and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Boydelatour worked for the Hoover Company and retired from Goodyear Aerospace in 1978 after a 24 ½ year career. While working for Goodyear he was recognized by NASA for designing the wheels and brakes for the platform that transported the Apollo Rockets to the launch pad and was responsible for several patents in the Aircraft Wheel & Brake Division at the U.S. Patent office in Washington D.C. Mr. Boydelatour took great pride in the fact that he designed and built his own house with the help of relatives. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy; daughter, Laura Lee Scaglione of Canton; sons and daughter-in-law, Lynn Allan and Jill Boydelatour of Columbus, Lane Scott Boydelatour of East Sparta; sister Norma Nicholson of Phoenix, AZ., Joanne (Earl) Schibler of Troy, OH; grandchildren, Renee', Phillip, Daniel and Andrea Boydelatour, Anthony Scaglione; many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be Friday 11:00 a.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Gary A. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Garden.
