Leslie B. Coons, "Les," age 93 of Canton, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014in Mercy Medical Center after an extended illness. Les was born in Dundee, NY to the late Ralph and Eva (Robinson) Coons. He was a US Air Force veteran serving as a Lieutenant in Europe during WWII. Les was a back up bombadier in the dropping of the first atomic bomb. He was a 1950 graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy and was the last surviving Alumni. Les began working at Gray Drug in 1956 as a Pharmacist retiring in 1985. He was an avid sports fan loving the NY Yankees and was a loving father and husband. In addition to his parents Les was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth on February 14, 2014. He is survived by his loving children who see Les as their Hero, Paul L. (Barbara) Coons of Canton and Victoria Coons of North Canton. Grandchildren: David Coons, Danielle (Joe) Klausner and Marc Coons also survive. Private services were held for the family.
