IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leonard "Len"
Lenny" Kitzen
November 1, 1969 – May 22, 2018
Leonard "Len" "Lenny" Kitzen, born Nov 1st, 1969, peacefully passed away on May 22nd in Columbus, Ohio. Len grew up in Canton, OH before moving to Pittsburgh, PA to attend the Art Institute of Pgh. This also brought Len to the beginning of his creative career at National Record Mart, and the opportunity to meet his love, Audrey. As his career advanced, he moved his young family to California to work for Disney. After 8 years, a return to Ohio allowed him to be closer to family and pursue another position at Abercrombie and Fitch and Bath and Body Works. More recently, Len created an innovative event planning business (with good friend Susan Hughes) and began a new position at Express, leaving behind even more admiring colleagues. Len's real and abiding passions were his family and friends. His 1000-watt smile, kindness, and wicked sense of humor will live on in all memories of him. He was a lifelong collector of pop culture, who sought to share his love of Star Wars, music, and scary movies with everyone around him. He and Audrey threw epic Halloween parties with legendary costumes and décor. His signature look was a black t-shirt and fabulous hair. Insanely creative and driven, Len handed down these qualities to his sons, Zachary (24) and Grayson (21). He was immensely proud of them. A beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Len will be forever missed by his best friend and wife of nearly 25 years, Audrey, and their children, Zachary and Grayson. By his parents, Gerald and Sherry Kitzen, his sisters Ilene (James) Burkart and Alisa Bordner, and by his grandmother Laura Tuber. He will be lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews; Anthony Sibert, Angel and Paige Antosz, Mackenzie Bordner, Micah Burkart, and Joseph and Jacob Sibert; brother in-law Ray Sibert; sister in-law Katrina Antosz; and by good friend Josh Walker. Len's last gift and surprise to Audrey, given just after his diagnosis, was a new puppy, Hazel, who brought him great joy, as he was so proud to give her to his family. She joins his two other dogs, Tilly and Olive, as a loved and welcomed member of the family. A Celebration of Len's Life will be held on Saturday, May 26th, 2018, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. Visiting hours will be from 4:00 until 8:00PM and a service will be held from 7:00 to 7:30. Len's friends are encouraged to come and laugh, cry, tell stories, and celebrate a life well lived. Visitation will be held in Canton, OH at ARNOLD FUNERAL HOME, 1517 Market Ave. N., on Tuesday, May 29th from 11-12PM with a graveside service to follow at North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214. Len wanted a big celebration party full of his friends, family, laughter, food, drinks, stories, dancing, and "Lenny-isms"!
