Leona F. Stoll, 95, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 17, 2023. Born January 26, 1928, in Sarasota, Florida, Leona lived her adult life in Hartville, Ohio. She was the

oldest of six children born to the late Martin and Sarah (Kurtz) Sommers; her mother died when she was twelve.

Before her health declined, Leona enjoyed planning holiday dinners and backyard barbecues. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. She also enjoyed

gardening and was a lifetime member of the North Canton Garden Club.  For many years, Leona participated in a community Bible Study Fellowship. She was a longtime member of the Chapel in Marlboro.

Leona was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie; son, Galen; sister, Mary Bender, and brother, Moses Sommers. Survivors include her beloved husband of 76 years, Owen; son, Owen Douglas; daughter-in-law, June; cherished grandchildren, Jeremy (Erin), Rachel (Sean), Jeff (Karla), Brian, Christa (Jason); great-granddaughter, Lily; and sisters, Amanda Overholt, Ruth Miller, and Sarah Ann (Clarence) Troyer.

Calling hours will be at the Arnold Funeral Home, 504 W. Maple Street, Hartville, on Saturday, July 22, from 1:00- 2:30 PM. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 pm with Pastor Joel Cochran officiating. A private graveside committal service will follow at Mt. Peace cemetery.

The family members express their heartfelt gratitude to caregiver, Bonnie McClung, whose love and dedication allowed Leona's wishes of living her life at home to be fulfilled.
