Obituary

Lenore Love was born on February 28, 1923, to Anna and Bert Wolman in Columbus, Ohio and died in Canton, Ohio on October 9, 2022. She studied 4 years of Hebrew and 4 years of Latin and graduated as an honor roll student at East High School. Lenore married Kenyon Love in 1944 and graduated from Ohio State University in 1947 with a bachelors degree in business education. She worked as a secretary at the Colonial Foundry Co. in Louisville, Ohio. Later she recertified in elementary special education and taught at Washington Elementary School for 27 years, 1962-1989. She belonged to the Canton, Ohio Professional Educators Assoc. She raised 3 children and delighted in the love of 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Lenore enjoyed travel, visiting family, sewing, reading, letter writing, bowling, tennis, swimming, camping, fishing, and card games. She loved musical theater and enjoyed singing. She read the Canton Repository daily and watched the news shows. She loved to tour the national parks, especially Yellowstone, and the NY and Montreal World's Fairs. She enjoyed visiting zoos, amusement parks, the beach. In her later life she attended exercise class, Bingo, and book club at Sanctuary Grande.

Lenore was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Maxine Siegle, and her husband, Kenyon Love, her sister-in-law, Bessieanne Krell Weinstein, and brothers in law: Leonard Krell, Robert Siegle, Meyer Chessin, and Howard Weinstein. She is survived by her children: Roberta Shilane (Lewis) , Samuel Love, and William Love (Rose), her sister, Florence Chessin, her grandchildren: Philip Shilane (Julie), David Shilane (Sofiya), Amy Shilane Phipps (Brent), Joel Love (Brittany) and Anna Love (Ryan Kozlowski) and her great grandchildren: Sarah, Katelyn, Claire, and Benny Shilane, Ian Zayd, Clark and Arthur Phipps.

The funeral will take place at 11am at Temple Israel on Friday, Oct. 14, followed by the burial at North Lawn Cemetery. Instead of flowers donations may be made to Temple Israel, Canton, Ohio, the First Friends Church, or the Jewish National Fund trees for Israel program.
