Lela Ruth Anstine, age 100, of Canton Christian Home, formerly of Hartville and North Canton, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 26, 2007. She was born in Middlebranch, Ohio on April 16, 1907 to the late Charles and Ida (Holl) Kinsley, graduated from Hartville High School in 1925 and attended Manchester College in Indiana. She taught school then married Charles Anstine on August 8, 1928. A skilled homemaker, Lela enjoyed singing and playing the piano. An excellent seamstress, she crocheted, knitted and quilted items that she shared with family and friends. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens. Lela was an active member of East Nimishillen Church of the Brethren and over the years served in many administration and teaching roles. A highlight in Lela's life was this past April 7th when her family hosted an open house to celebrate her 100th birthday at the church. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1994; son Richard in 1994 and brothers, Florin, Ralph, Raymond and Earl Kinsley. She is survived by her children, James Anstine, William and Carolyn Anstine all of North Canton, Don and Jean Anstine of Navarre; Karen and Randall Wardlaw of Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law, Florence Kinsley of Canton; 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Calling hours are Monday 6-8 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville and one hour prior to services Tuesday in the church 10-11 AM. Funeral services are Tuesday 11 AM in the East Nimishillen Church of Brethren with Carol Kuryn and Pastor Michael Gleason officiating. Final resting place is East Nimishillen Church Cemetery.
