IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leander J.
Miller
August 21, 1946 – November 3, 2022
Leander Miller, age 76, passed away peacefully to his eternal heavenly home on November 3, 2022 after being diagnosed two months prior with cancer. He was a man of physical strength in his years playing softball, as well as being a mason and carpenter. He also displayed strength of character, in that he did not back down from what he believed. Being an avid outdoorsman, he not only enjoyed time in the woods by himself, but also enjoyed having his sons and grandsons with him. He may not have always sung on pitch, but he loved to praise the Lord singing along to southern gospel and bluegrass music. Leander was born on August 21, 1946 to the late Jonas and Lydia Ann (Schlabach) Miller in Uniontown, Ohio. He is survived, and will be missed, by his wife of 53 years, Sara (Yoder), children and grandchildren: Michael (Carmen) of Hillsville, VA (Trenton, Cheyenne, Autumn, Brooklyn), David (Karen) of Hartville, OH (Abby, fiance Wyatt, Lydia, Andrea, Jason, Amanda), John (Monica) of Abbeville, SC (Tyler, Erika, Ryan, Kyle, Dylan, Victoria), Emily (Conrad) of Hartville, OH ( Braden, Morgan, Austin, Sierra, Addelyn, Isaiah), along with 9 siblings and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd. Calling hours are Sunday, November 6, 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral service on Monday, November 7 at 10:30 am. All at Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church. Burial at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
