Lawrence J. Goldberg "Larry" Larry Goldberg, age 69, died unexpectedly on July 7. He was born on August 4, 1941 in Akron, OH to the late Dr. Albert and Anna Mae Goldberg. Larry graduated from Buchtel High School in Akron and attended Kent State University. Larry made his career in the furniture business, spending 28 years at Sokol Furniture in Akron as vice president and general manager and 11 years in sales at Wayside Furniture. He was a master salesman who generously shared his knowledge with others. Larry was known for his beautiful blue eyes and his many talents. He was "Mr. Fix It" and his carpentry skills were exceptional. If anyone needed a great photograph, Larry was often the person called. He was a devotee of both classical and jazz music and truly enjoyed preparing and eating a super gourmet meal. His greatest passion was his wonderful family; Larry was a great husband, dad, grandpa, brother and son. Survivors include Barbara, his wife of 48 years, daughters Marla and fiancé Joey Eslish and Debra (Jon) Hemminger of Canton, and Hyla (Nick) Guerriere of Chicago, IL. He also leaves behind sisters Madelyn Raful Wright of Dover, DE and Harriet NewDelman of Portland, OR; grandchildren Lindsey and Justin Hemminger, and Parker, Ella and Pierce Guerriere and Lee Finson; and sisters-in-law Patty (Lynn) Nicholas and Eileen Hostetler. Larry was a member of Temple Israel, Canton, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Temple at 2631 Harvard Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44709. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11 at 2:00 P.M. at Arnold Funeral Home, 1517 Market Ave. N, Canton, OH 44714.
