Obituary

Lauramae Gheen, 98, passed away March 28th., in the Laurels of Massillon. Laura was born April 18, 1909, in Somerdale, OH, to the late John and Mae Zantene. On April 12, 1930, she married Delmar Gheen. Laura was a loveing wife, mother grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a friend to all. Laura was best known for her devotion to her family and for the cookies she baked and shared with her loving friends. Laura also was active in Lady Elk's for many years enjoying dinners, dances and cards with her many friends. She is survived by two sons and daughters- in-law: Dr. Del and Sharon Gheen of OK, Jon and Barbara Gheen of Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Denny Noland of Canton; there are seven grandchildren: Wendy (Jeff) Carroll, Steve (Dana) Noland, Mike Gheen, Kristi (Tony) Blankenship, Mark (April) Gheen, Doug (Abbey) Gheen and Lenore (Karl) Brown; there are 11 great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Everhart of Massillon; sister-in-law, Gladys Schroll of Freeport, OH. Very special nieces, Cheryl (Ed) Carrick, Phyllis (Butch) Barnhart; and special nephews, Rod and Pete Everhart. In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Del; a brother, Emery; and brother-in-law, Phil Everhart. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Laurel's for their care and kindness shown to Laura for the past four years. Funeral service will be on Wednesday 2 p.m. in the Spiker - Foster - Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. N.W., with Rev. Wendy Bausman officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
