Larry Paul Norris, age 69, of Massillon, passed away Monday morning in Affinity Medical Center in Massillon. He was born February 27, 1946 in Athens, Ohio to Ralph and Clara (Williams) Norris. Larry retired from Union Metal in 2009 after a 25 year career where he was a welder and supervisor and was an Army Veteran. His passion was restoring and showing classic cars and drag racing. Many of his restored cars were show winners including his 1966 Chevrolet Nova that was a best of show winner multiple times. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, June; daughters, Bobbie Norris Yeager of Massillon, Sandra McCurdy (John) of Zanesville, Stacey Slackford-Barnes(Jason Barnes) of Jackson Township; sisters and brothers, Theresa Griffin of Florida, Lavonne Schmidt of Canton, Viola Evans (Bob) of North Canton, Vaughn Mohler (Diane) of Massillon, Alan Mohler (Sheila) of Canton; grandchildren, Christopher Yeager (Kayla) and Lucas Yeager, J. Paul McCurdy (April), Douglas McCurdy(Jocelin Howard), Kayce McCurdy, Zachary and Andrew Barnes, Caleb Slackford; great grandchildren, Aiden and Olivia Yeager. Preceded in death by sister Vicki Mohler and brother Terry Mohler. Friends may call Thursday 5-7:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton.
