Obituary

L. Alan Daft, age 73, of North Canton died Sunday, May 3, 2015 after a brief illness. Born in Columbus, OH to the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Ewing) Daft, he resided here for the past 43 years. Alan served in the Navy on the USS Runner 476 as a machinist mate and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. He was a personal financial advisor with New Market Financial Group. An avid golfer, Alan was a member of Oakwood Country Club. He is survived by his sweetheart of 47 wonderful years, Nancy A. (Myers) Daft; his two loving daughters, Mrs. James (Cari) Morgan of Columbus and Kelli Bruckner of Canton; his six beautiful grandchildren, Emma, Sydney, Ellie, Max, Megan and Jack. He is also survived by his two brothers, Tom of Grove City and Steve Daft of Columbus, as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held 6:00 P.M. Monday, May 11, 2015 in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. followed by military services. Friends may call on Monday from 3 to 5:45 P.M. A private interment will be for the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care, 2811 Woodlawn Ave., N.W. Canton, OH 44708. Please sign the guest book.
